Page Views Are Dead – Social Media Metrics

What are the right metrics for tracking your social media strategy? Beth Kanter facilitated “Mapping Social Media Strategy To Metrics: Listen, Learn, Adapt today at the NTEN Conference.  Great take away –think outside of the traditional measure of page views (and according all the presenters – a metric that is dead). Engagement metrics = creating, commenting, clicking, critiquing or collecting.  Take the side of measuring your success.

Often social media metrics is related to two things: engagement and influence. How are people interacting with your brand and message, and how impactful are they? This is the sort of thing we haven’t been able to really measure offline to the extent we can now.
